THS has a mental health team including psychiatrist, psychiatrist mental health nurse practitioner, psychotherapist, and interns that will help in guiding you to navigate life’s challenges and help you on the path of hope and recovery.            

Service Philosophy:

It is the philosophy of THS is that each person has a responsibility for his/her own health and must be an active participant in his/her own healing.  Clients are encouraged to be responsible for the daily care of their health through diet, exercise, lifestyle, and attitudes about what constitutes wellness.  We support our clients every step of the way, helping them to make appropriate choices and take responsibility for their well-being. We believe to achieve overall health and wellness, we must make a commitment to care for body, mind, and spirit, hence we use a holistic approach with our treatment modalities.

THS also uses the team approach to provide comprehensive and community based psychiatric treatment to clients who have behavioral health issues. THS provides services in the form of teams; these teams are led by a licensed mental health professional. In addition to the licensed team leader, teams consist of a master’s level mental health professional and paraprofessionals.

  • Sick Visit to address common acute complaints including strep throat, UTIs, fall, and respiratory infections.
  • Treatment and Management of common chronic conditions including Diabetes, Hypertension, COPD
  • Home safety evaluation and psychosocial Assessment.
  • Comprehensive review of your medical history, physical examination, and ongoing management
  • Medication management and Refills.
  • Referrals to Home Health Nursing including Skilled Nursing Care and Physical Therapy.
  • Coordinating care and making Referrals to Other Specialist and Healthcare Providers.
  • Travel immunization and Immunizations.
  • Labs and X-rays at home.
  • Primary Care Services to established patients.
  • Wound Care and Coumadin Therapy and INR monitoring.

Our Mobile Treatment Service Program popularly known as MTS is a blended a program that incorporates Outpatient Mental Health Clinic Services and Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services treatment modalities into one. We provide support to children, youth, adults with Serious Mental Illness who have failed traditional form of outpatient treatments or who have had frequent psychiatric hospitalizations or rehospitalization.

The MTS philosophy consists of identifying the strengths, needs, abilities and preferences of the client and establishing a mutually agreed upon treatment plan leading to mutually agreed upon outcome goals.

MTS services includes, but not limited to

  • Case management
  • Medication Management Services

Psychotherapy: Each client is assigned a primary therapist who is responsible for his or her coordination of care. Regular scheduled individual counseling sessions take place to assist the client in both individual and program goals and objectives. In addition, counseling groups are held on a regular basis to utilize a therapeutic milieu that involves the client’s peers and/or family members.

Crisis Management: All clients participating in Outpatient Services are provided with crisis intervention services 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Staff utilizes an on-call system and procedures that ensure all situations that require specialized crisis intervention are responded to in a timely and effective manner.

Psychoeducation: Psychosocial education in both individual and group formats are provided to assist with such program goals as increased self-care, interpersonal relations, role performance, self-management of education, and communication skills.


Our Outpatient Mental Health Program popularly known as OMHC also offers education on wellness and recovery. OMHC is organized and staffed to provide a pathway to strengthening individuals, families, and communities by offering mental health and community services that empower and assist individuals in reaching their full potential. This is done through a holistic approach to care where we treat the client as a “whole.”  THS provides Outpatient Services to clients across the life span.

Our Outpatient Services are organized to provide an environment in which the client receives services from our personnel who are trained in the delivery of services for persons with mental health issues. Our Outpatient Services are provided in a freestanding, non-hospital-based facility.

      THS offers Individual Therapy commonly known as psychotherapy, a confidential and one-on-one session between a therapist and client.         Looking for people who understand what you are going through? Our Group at THS may be exactly what you need. Essentially, group therapy is a type of psychotherapy where a therapist works with several people at the same time. Typically, people in the group share the same concerns and issues. During group therapy, participants are encouraged to listen to others and to share their own stories. Group therapy provides participants with a sense of “belonging” and it helps them see that they are not completely alone in what they are going through.

Family/couple therapy is a form of psychotherapy that seeks to reduce conflict and distress by improving communication and systems of interactions between all family members and couples. Family/couple therapy can help improve troubled relationships with your partner, children, and/or other family members.

          Family/Couple therapy may be used to address specific issues, such as:

            We offer comprehensive psychosocial assessments. Essentially, a Psychosocial Assessment is an evaluation of an individual’s physical, mental, social, and emotional health. Our therapists use psychosocial assessments to get a better picture of our client’s mental state. Common questions include symptoms they are having, asking the client to list down triggers and stressors, and whether the client has thoughts of suicide.

            We utilize different psychosocial assessment tools, such as:

              Medications can play a key role in mental health treatment. Oftentimes, patients may be prescribed certain medications to help manage symptoms, whether for a short time or for ongoing stabilization. We recognize that some people struggle with maintaining medication adherence, which is why we offer our Medication Management services. It is important to note that while medications cannot cure mental health conditions, they can help manage symptoms. If you stop taking them, symptoms may come back.

              Our medication management services include:

            • Prescription, administration, and review of medications
            • Monitoring of prescription medications, including its efficacy and potential side effects
            • Monitoring for potentially unsafe drug uses and issues

At THS, we don’t subscribe to a “one-size-fits-all” treatment approach; instead, we tailor our services according to our client’s needs. We utilize Individualized Treatment Plans to guarantee that the attention and care that you receive is relevant to your diagnosis and treatment requirements.

                Telehealth is healthcare that is provided via other means than a face-to-face visit or office visit.

                Due to the current nationwide situation with COVID-19, visit can be handled via video-conferencing. Our system is HIPAA compliant and easy.

                Telephone consultation, videoconferencing, transmission of still images, e-health technologies, patient portals, and remote patient monitoring are all considered telehealth services.

                During the telehealth session, mental or physical health information gathered is used to diagnose, establish a treatment plan for the patient, conduct psychotherapy sessions, make referrals, conduct evaluations or follow up visit and manage medication.                 THS provides skilled nursing services will be administered by licensed and certified registered and licensed practical nurses. They specialize in providing adult to geriatric skilled nursing care and have the necessary experience and wisdom to deal with any situation should the need arise.

                Qualification for Care at Home

                • You must be homebound.
                • You must have an acute health condition.
                • You must require nursing care.
                • You must be under the care of physician.

                THS has a team of compassionate home health aides who are well-trained to provide personalized care for your loved ones. Our home health aide services are provided with the assurance that the patient’s privacy is respected and dignity is always preserved.

                Home Health Aide services may include but is not limited to:

                • Personal – grooming, bathing, feeding.
                • Homemaking – meal preparation, housekeeping, grocery shopping
                • Treatment – vital checks, weighing, incontinent care.

                We plan to be a community-based organization that provides life skills training and education to youth and adult who suffer from substance abuse.  We assist by providing quality outpatient care for substance abusers and those with behavior issues. The result of our services is a new person with the confidence needed to restore his or her life.

                Our goal is to assist individuals who have become exiled for various reasons. We invest in those we serve by providing a comfortable atmosphere to support change. Our goal is met when a client completes the treatment therapy and becomes a positive, productive person who is giving back to the community.

                We provide structured individual and group addiction activities and services that are provided at an outpatient program designed to assist adults to begin recovery and learn skills to maintain his or her recovery effort. Temah Healthcare Services LLC shall include a structured program consisting of, but not limited to, the following services:

                1. Individual counseling and support.
                2. Group counseling and support.
                3. Family counseling, training, or support.
                4. Toxicology (e.g., urine drug screens);
                5. Strategies for relapse prevention to include community and social support systems in treatment.
                6. Life skills.
                7. Crisis contingency planning.
                8. Disease Management; and
                9. Treatment support activities that have been adapted or specifically designed for persons with physical disabilities, or persons with co-occurring disorders of mental illness and substance abuse/dependence or mental retardation/developmental disability and substance abuse/dependence.

                The Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program is popularly known as the PRP consists of a network of services designed to support and restore community functioning and well-being of children, youth, and adults with a serious and persistent mental illness. The program is integrated with the Outpatient Treatment Services to provide a comprehensive treatment option.

                The purpose of the program is to promote recovery, resiliency, and empowerment of the individual in his/her community. Program activities aim to improve reality orientation, social skills, and adaptation, coping skills, effective management of time and resources, task completion, community and family integration, vocational and academic skills, and activities to incorporate the individual into independent community living; as well as to alleviate psychiatric decompensation, confusion, anxiety, disorientation, distraction, preoccupation, isolation, withdrawal, and feelings of low self-worth. 

                These psychiatric rehabilitation activities/techniques are designed to provide the person with the opportunity to:

                1. become informed about the illness:
                2. assess what is needed to recover;
                3. choose rehabilitation goal(s); and
                4. plan for and obtain the experiences needed to develop the skills to achieve recovery.

                A key element of rehabilitation is experiencing a valued role in the community and obtaining and using the power to make choices about one’s life. Such experiences are essential to cognitive and behavioral change that underpin the recovery process for any person.

                The program provides both informal and formal structures through which participants can influence and shape program development. The practice of psychiatric rehabilitation, is comprised of three strategies:

                1. Helping persons identify goals.
                2. Helping persons plan strategies and acquire necessary skills to reach and maintain desired goals, and
                3. Helping person develop necessary supports to maintain those goals.

                Service can be provided onsite, offsite, or blended (a combination of offsite and onsite)

                A health home is a healthcare delivery approach that focuses on the whole person and integrates and coordinates primary care, behavioral health, and community and social support services. The program demonstrates the capacity to address, either directly or through linkage with or referral to external resources, behavioral health conditions, such as mental illness and substance use disorders, and physical health conditions.

                We also provide services to individual who have intellectual or other developmental disabilities and physical health needs or those who are at risk for or exhibiting behavioral disorders.

                4. comprehensive transitional care
                5. individual and family/support services
                6. linkage and referral to community and social services.


                Services are designed to support overall health and wellness and:

                Promote healthy lifestyles and provide prevention and education services that focus on self-care and wellness.

                Ensure access to and coordination of care across prevention, primary care (including ensuring that persons served have a primary care physician), and specialty healthcare services.

                Support individuals in the self-management of chronic health conditions.

                Coordinate/monitor emergency room visits and hospitalizations, including participation in transition/discharge planning and follow-up.



                Individuals eligible for Health Home services include those with diagnoses of serious persistent mental illness (SPMI), opioid substance use disorders (determined to be at risk for a second chronic condition), or children with serious emotional disturbance (SED). Participants must be enrolled to receive the appropriate psychiatric rehabilitation program (PRP), mobile treatment, or opioid treatment program (OTP) services from a Health Home provider in order to qualify for Health Home.

                At Temah, services for obtaining a Medical Marijuana can be covered under your health insurance. In order words, you can also have your evaluations and follow-ups covered under your insurance. However, you will be required to pay your co-pay or deductible.
