Cost & coverage
What you pay, worked out first
If you are uninsured or underinsured, your fee is set against your household size and income, before anything is scheduled, not after.
Verification costs nothing, whether or not you go on to book. If you have insurance, we check your benefits instead and tell you what your plan leaves you owing.
Clients will never be denied services because of an inability to pay current or past fees.
Find your band
An estimate, not a bill. It uses the same figures the office does, so it should be close, but your actual discount is confirmed with you before you are booked in.

Fees shown are per session or per day of the program as published by the practice. Nothing here is a quote. Your benefits and your discount are confirmed with you before anything is scheduled.
What to have to hand
Bring what you can. Missing paperwork does not stop you being seen. It only means the discount is finalised after the fact rather than before.
Photo ID
Any government-issued identification.
Proof of income
Recent pay stubs, last year's tax return, or a benefits award letter.
Household size
Everyone you support, not just the people on your lease.
Insurance card, if you have one
Even partial coverage changes what you pay.
Questions people actually ask
- Who is the sliding scale for?
- Patients who are uninsured or underinsured. It is not a discount on an insured patient's copay. If you have coverage, your plan sets what you owe and we verify that for you free of charge before anything is scheduled.
- How is my discount worked out?
- Household size and gross annual income, compared against the current federal poverty guidelines. Whichever band your income falls into sets the percentage of the full fee you pay, from nothing at all up to the full amount.
- What if I cannot pay even the discounted fee?
- Temah's published policy is that clients will never be denied services because of an inability to pay current or past fees. Tell the coordinator what you can manage and it will be worked out with you.
- Does asking about the sliding scale cost anything?
- No. Checking your coverage and working out your discount is free, whether or not you go on to book an appointment.
- What do I need to bring?
- Photo ID, proof of household income such as recent pay stubs, a tax return or a benefits letter, and your insurance card if you have one. If you do not have paperwork to hand, call and we will tell you what will work.
Still not sure what you would pay?
Call and ask. A coordinator will work it out with you on the phone. There is no charge and no obligation to book.
